About Wakulla Suites Resort.
Wakulla is Native American for “Mysterious Waters”
Built in 1965 as the Wakulla Apartments in Cocoa Beach, Florida, the property was home to many early space program workers. The suites owe their roomy configuration to this original design and use.
The Mishlers, Cliff and Pat, wanted to open a hotel that could offer vacationers and business travelers extra comfort. In May of 1972, they purchased the Wakulla Apartments with its ample two-bedroom units and turned it into the Wakulla Motel, charging $17 per night for a stay back then. He purchased 100 varieties of plants and trees native to 25 countries making Wakulla the lush, exotic garden hotel it is today.
To this day, the Wakulla remains a Mishler family operation dedicated to quality and comfort.
